Not knowing the artist's name but loving her "blurry" style, espec watercolored flowers, I intently watched for this artist's beautiful work on greeting cards starting all of 25 years ago. I bought everything flowers I found just loving the style ...includingcalendars.
When she finally went with HALLMARK I happily began to see simply "Mary" signed beneath the artwork...and in a busy quite responsible life I simply waited too long (past 2017) to PRESS TO LEARN the last name of who was the one & only MARY HAMILTON. I now greatly regret I never got to tell her personally by writing her @ HALLMARK how I loved her blurry watercolored flowers...to me they are exquisite.

Aunt Mary,
You were my inspiration to draw, you gave me the courage to express my emotions and feelings through art, you were kind, loving and humble. You had the world in your lap, but you never showed it. You made all of us niece and nephews feel as if we were your children. Uncle Don and Grandma and Grandpa McCollum and Grandpa and Grandma Roberts were there when you entered into heaven. You are now truly an angel, I love you and will always miss you

I first "met" Mary through her work at Hallmark. Though I have collected for years, Mary's Nativity is still my favorite. In recent years I've had the chance to visit with Mary at events and even got to have lunch and visiti her home once. I found she was delightful and humble as well as supremely talented. She was a shining star and will truly be missed.

Mary and I attended Northeast High School together and reconnected at First Baptist Church of Raytown. I cherish many memories. One in particular stands out. I worked with a mission group for girls and had arranged for former POW Charles Plumm to conduct a rewards program. I'd read in his book that while a prisoner he'd heard a few strains of The Drummer Boy music at Christmas and how it gave him courage. Mary got permission from Hallmark to paint an original drummer boy on parchment to present to Plumm. It was a touching moment for all and only one example of Mary's good heart. Years later she agreed to be a reference for our daughter when she applied for a position in the art department at Hallmark. We stayed in touch through the alumni association. She was a wonderful friend and remarkable artist. She is missed.

When Mary lost her beloved husband Don over eight years ago, it left a huge void in her life that nobody could ever fill. However, as a brother-in-law I have been honored to help her extensively to establish a new normal. Mary was a sensitive, humble, and very special person to me and my family. She is greatly missed and never to be forgotten. Thank you Mary for your sincere trust in me. May you rest in peace.

Mary was one of God's precious Angels on Earth! I have loved and admired her for years as an artist and a Dear Christian Friend! She was an inspiration us all who knew her!

CONTRASTS
They feel only joy
We have the sorrow
They see eternity
We look to tomorrow

They are with Jesus
That's worth so much
We are here missing
Their sweet, soft touch

They see only light
We sense the dark
They soar with angels
We miss the mark

God says to rejoice
"Your loved one is free!"
I realize now
I was thinking of "ME"!
Sandi Jeffries

THE OTHER SIDE

Bright lights surround us
It's so beautiful here
What else could be better
Then loved ones all near

It's something to gaze at
Something to behold
The streets all aglitter
As they're covered with gold

They glisten from Jesus
And His Holy Light
He walks in our presence
And we sense His might

But you must be busy
You'e left there below
Tell ALL about Jesus
They really MUST know!

Your job is not finished
The task is not done
Let no one not "know" Him
No, not even one!

I had the pleasure of meeting Mary on several occasions at Hallmark Ornament Conventions. I was always taken with her friendly personality and her beautiful face. Each time I would say to her that she should be selling cosmetics because her skin looked as smooth as porcelain. A beautiful smile on her face! Wishing Mary peace as she finds her way in heaven. Hoping that Mary's sisters feel God's arms wrapped around them to give them strength and support during this sad time. Lifting Patricia and Shirley up in prayer.

Mary's angels and bears have brightened so many lives. Her art was an extension of her...loving, sweet, beautifully created. That was Mary; she was created to fill the lives and heart of many through her work, through her being. You are a treasure and you will live on in our hearts.

Mary was the brightest gem in the Hallmark crown. I worked closely with her on many projects, interpreting her character drawings into 3D products for Little Gallery and Keepsake ornaments. She was always gracious and helpful! I will miss her deeply. Huge in my eyes, tho the quietest little lady, Proud to have known her.

A sign of a great person is someone who can touch your heart even though you didn't know them personally. Mary's work at Hallmark did that for many years. My thoughts and prayers are with Mary's sisters and loved ones.
