Michael worked for the Graphic Communications International Union Local 235 as a Lithographer. He retired in April of 2000 from Burd and Fletcher. Michael was a lifelong softball player and was instrumental in founding the Kansas City Metro Senior Softball League. It became a Wednesday ritual for his son, Michael Anthony, to join his father and softball friends for lunch and to trade stories. Michael's passion for the sport of softball inspired him to collect donated equipment which he would take to less fortunate children during his travels to Mexico and Costa Rica. Michael loved traveling and as soon as it was no longer warm enough to play softball or garden, he would spend weeks and months in warm climate countries where he would enjoy scuba diving, reading on the beach, and making lifelong friendships. Michael is survived by his children, Kathryn Biagioli (Michael) of Lee's Summit, MO, Carla Hooper (Amy Ridgeway) of Kansas City, MO, Michael A. Hooper (Brenda) of Blue Springs, MO, Suzanne Huff (Kevin) of Blue Springs, MO, John Hooper (Amy) of Grain Valley, MO; grandchildren, Andrea Biagioli, Julia Biagioli, Michael Garrett Hooper, Nicholas Hooper, Emily Hooper: brother, Larry Hooper (Judy) of Lewisburg, PA; sister, Patty Fleming (Kenny) of Kearney, MO. Friends: countless and close, too many to be named here. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Leonora Hooper.
