Nancy Iovinelli Obituary
Nancy Ann Iovinelli
August 21, 1934 - November 27, 2024
Overland Park, Kansas - Nancy Ann Iovinelli of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on November 27, 2024, after fighting like a warrior from cancer for many years. Her faith, strength, and determination in how she lived her life was a true beacon of light that set an example to all the many lives she touched throughout her 90 years.
She was born in Custer, South Dakota, August 21, 1934. Her family moved to El Paso, Texas, when she was a girl. After graduating, marrying, and having two children, she moved to Los Lunas, New Mexico where she raised her children. She was a constant in their life, involved always and supporting everything they were involved in. She hauled them to rodeos in the summer, where she helped her children train their horses, and supported other activities like athletics and cheerleading. She lived many years in New Mexico and returned to El Paso, Texas, where she became an office manager for Dr. Celso Stapp. This position she held for many years until she went into the insurance business. She met and married Carl Iovinelli and moved to Overland Park, Kansas. She continued in the insurance business and then retired. However, being always the go getter, she began with her club involvements. This involvement and leadership quality led her to be president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer of many clubs. Positions she held were associated with The Salvation Army, Presidents and Past Presidents of Kansas City where the club retired her gavel in past President Harry Truman's home, and a key member of the Art Study Club of Kansas City which she adored and was a member holding multiple positions to this day.
Nancy loved life, adventure, reading (a passion) and her family. She was the most honest and compassionate person and truly an angel on earth.
She is survived by her husband Carl Iovinelli; brother Michael Neavill; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Bill Hohertz; son Ross McKenna; stepchildren Mike, Denise, Deanna, Tony; grandchildren, Maggie, Scott, Erick, Christopher, Ross, Kelly, Erin; and multiple great-grandchildren including Izzy and August.
Waiting for her in Heaven are her mother and father Margaret and Paul Neavill; and brother Stephen Neavill.
