Linwood, Kansas - Peter Bernard Thompson passed away peacefully at his home on April 7, 2024. Peter was born April 21, 1934, to parents Clarice Bruere and Bernard Leo Thompson. He attended Prairie Elementary, Pembroke Country Day School, Phillips Academy, Andover and the University of Kansas, where he was captain of the swim team. He worked as a designer for Boeing then became a Stockbroker in 1961 with Merrill Lynch, then Morgan Stanley until he retired in 2009. He married Ann Jarrell Jeffries in 1957 and had three children: Anna-Correlia Biederbeck, Julia Reyes, and Robert Thompson. He enjoyed KU sports, upland game hunting and environmental philanthropy in helping establish the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in Kansas.
Peter is survived by his wife, Ann Thompson, sister Correlia Anderson, his children, four grandsons and two granddaughters. His family is honoring his wishes and having a private graveside service as well as a gathering for a party to honor his memory at a future date. See www.chapeloaksne.com for online condolences.
