I remember when i was little he when he sneak drumsticks (ice cream kind) from downstairs to my brother and I, and he said "Now, don't tell your grandmother!" He will always be in all our hearts. :)

As a young girl working in the Medical Records Dept at Research Hosp (over 40 yrs ago), I assisted physicians in the completion of their patients' records. Therefore, I got to know most of the physicians on staff. Dr Ramos was a man that was most memorable not only for the respect everyone held for him, but for his kindness and his smile. He knew I was one to blush easily and when he saw me, he would just look at me till I blushed, then he would walk away smiling. He made me feel special that he took the time to make me smile too. Such a small thing, but a hint of what this man must have been like. I will always remember him. My condolences to his family. I know you will miss this very special man.

I owe Rick for the start of my teaching career at KC General Hospital as the first full time surgeon in 1968. Thirty three years later I retired at the same place (now Truman Medical Center-UMKC medical school). I shall never forget the lessons this brilliant scholar instilled in me.

Sally and Family:
I was sorry to hear of Ricks passing. It was a blast practicing with him for many years. I'm sure the "Professor" will be missed.

In 1981 Dr. Ramos performed thoracic surgery on me for a collapsed lung. He was the kindest, most compassionate physician I've ever met. Even after all these years, I've thought of him often and wished him well. I am sorry to learn of his passing, but he will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and patients. Godspeed, Dr. Ramos - may you rest in peace.
