RICK G. WINTERS

1955 - 2017

Rick G. Winters, 61, of Kearney, MO, passed away May 6, 2017, at home after a long struggle with the evil demon cancer. Rick was born Oct. 28, 1955, in Parsons, KS, the son of Charles E. and Norma Winters. He was a Raytown High School graduate in 1973. After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Rick served from November 1973 until 1980. Rick was a Sgt. in the Air Force, receiving numerous medals and awards. On Sept. 21, 1981, he married the love of his life, Paulette Kobe in Raytown, MO. He was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Rick had a love for life, an easy going person and loved all his girls. Since he only had a daughter who had daughters. Rick loved drawing, billiards and loved all kinds music from the BeeGee's, Gary Allen to Ace of Base and Lady GaGa, anything with a good beat. Fishing was one of his favorite past times, giving him solitude from all the yakking women in his life. (Boy can we talk!) Who wouldn't need that quiet time? Rick was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Winters. Rick is survived by his wife, Paulette Winters of 35 years; mother, Norma Ard and stepfather Graham; daughter, Shawna (Michael) Gonzales; granddaughters, Samantha (Kevin) Owens, Alyssa Gonzales, Kristen Evans; brothers, Alan (Kay) Winters, Dean (Cindy) Winters; nephews, Ryan Caddell, Joseph Winters, Jason Winters. If you know Rick, you know this is exactly the kind of obituary he would want. He was not a normal everyday kind of person. He was smart, funny, caring, no nonsense, artistic, loving and straight forward person. Quoted by Rick "I have no regrets, I have had a great life. It's been a hell of a ride." R.I.P.
