ROBERT E. LACKNER Robert E. Lackner, of Overland Park, KS passed away December 14, 2017 at Homestead Assisted Living Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 11300 West 103rd St. Overland Park, KS. Robert was born Sept. 17, 1924 in Chicago, IL. He was employed by the Rock Island Railroad for 30-plus years. Robert married Barbara Ann Lancor in 1949 in Chicago. They moved to Overland Park, KS, in 1968 when he was transferred by the Railroad. Robert was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church where he served as a member of the Knights of Columbus, a fraternal service organization. He received recognition for outstanding support and faithful dedication to the workings of that organization. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Adolf and Catherine Lackner, his daughter, Phyllis Hutchins of Overland Park, and two sisters, Lillian Olsen of Abilene, TX, and Katy Westenburg of Chicago, IL. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Barbara, daughters, Karen Grisell and husband Scotty and Karol Shartzer and husband Ed. Left behind to cherish his memory are six grandchildren: Christopher Hutchins, Jennifer Nyman, Michael Grisell, Megan Black, Ashley Olerich, Adam Shartzer and eight great grandchildren.
