Kansas City, Missouri - Robert Bradley (Brad) Steinbach, 61, died June 28, 2021 in his home in Kansas City, Missouri. Brad, the son of Robert W. Steinbach and the late Sally Richardson Steinbach, was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 18, 1959. Brad's grandparents were Albert W. and Marie Steinbach of Shelbyville, MO and Hayes and Margaret Richardson of Kansas City, MO.
Brad grew up in the Armour Hills area of Kansas City, Missouri. He experienced the many advantages of growing up in this community like swimming at the Brookside YMCA, playing in the youth basketball league, and sledding on the Brookside Hill. Brad enjoyed playing baseball, a game his grandfather Richardson taught him, and he had a great love of horses. He particularly enjoyed riding at the Benjamin Stables and, as a boy, often asked his parents to include a "dude ranch" on their family vacations. Brad was a 1978 high school graduate of Pembroke Country Day School in Kansas City, Missouri. After graduation he attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where he received a degree in History/American Industrialization, Technological Innovation and Corporate Organization in 1982. Upon graduation, Brad worked in Commercial Real Estate in Kansas City and then moved to Texas to work for the Federal Management Emergency Agency (FEMA). While in Texas he participated in the North Padre Island condo market by acquiring, leasing and selling condos. Most recently Brad worked as an investor for his own company, Steinbach Investments.
Brad enjoyed traveling and visiting friends in Europe and China. He was involved in a number of professional and civic organizations including, Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute; Society of Industrial and Office Realtors; Billion Dollar Club/National Association of Realtors; and served as a Board Member for the Kansas City Industrial Council, O.E. Ellis Society Board Member and Kansas City Club. Brad struggled with depression and anxiety most of his adult life and suffered greatly during the isolation of the pandemic. Private burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, KCMO.
Memorial contributions in Brad's name may be given to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church (6401 Wornall Terrace, KCMO 64113) or Pembroke Day School (5121 State Line Road, KCMO 64112).
