Lee's Summit, Missouri - Rosanne M. (Sonnenmoser) Powell passed Feb. 11th of lung cancer at the age of 63. The daughter of Joseph and Rosemary Sonnenmoser, she grew up in Weston, MO. She earned a Master's in Library Science from MU-Columbia. She worked as a librarian at Rockhurst University, MCC, and at Unity Village before becoming an archivist. She loved books and music, playing piano at her church, and singing in the Grace UMC choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Michael.
She is survived by brothers Steve, Mark, and David, sisters Cathy Overton, Susan Hamamlow, and Mary McQuillen. She was married to Scot Powell on Sept. 17, 1994. She had six children Heather and Nathaniel Daise, Rhianna Rice, Kristen, Rhys, and Ian Powell. Grandchildren Damien, Promise, Lola, Nathaniel, and Jaxson.
Celebration of life yet to be determined. Donations to the Mid-Continent Library are suggested by the family.
