Overland Park, Kansas - Rosemary (Voeste) Fladung, 98, of Overland Park, KS passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025.

Visitation on March 27 from 9:30-11am at Curé of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Rd Leawood, KS 66206.

Mass 11am-noon. Burial at 1:30pm at Resurrection Cemetery 8300 Quivira Road Lenexa, KS 66215.

Rosemary was born July 14, 1926 in Olpe, Kansas to Frederick Joseph Voeste, President of the Olpe State Bank and Louise Clara (Rossillon) Voeste, proprietor of the Olpe Corner Store. Rosemary's siblings were Lucile, Fred, and Helen. Rosemary attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Olpe, then St. Mary's College in Leavenworth, Kansas for 2 years. In 1946, she transferred to Emporia State Teacher's College, joining the Delta Zeta Sorority. There she met Jerome Fladung, a former Navy engineer. In Spring 1948, Rosemary graduated with a Major in Business and a Minor in Music. Her first job out of college was as an attorney's secretary in Topeka, KS. On June 18, 1949, Rosemary married Jerome Francis Fladung at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe, KS.

Rosemary excelled at music by playing the piano, organ and singing in choirs at Queen of the Holy Rosary, Curé of Ars Catholic Church and the JCCC Chorus. She found joy in the outdoors, and cherished time spent with her family.

Rosemary's life was one of service:

*Volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, MO for over 6,000 hours.

*Republican Precinct Committeewoman for many years.

*Officer of the MSPE wives club

*Officer of Pi Kappa Alpha, Beta Gamma mother's club

*Volunteered at American Royal with the Saddle and Sirloin Club

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Francis Fladung, on August 12, 2015.

Rosemary is survived by 5 children: Kathlyn (Dale) Wheeler, Philip (Betsy) Fladung, Richard (Lynn) Fladung, Tricia (Mark) Raab, Eric Fladung (Penny) ; 11 grandchildren: Bonnie (Cory) Popia, Stephanie (John) Lee, Rebecca Wheeler (Trinidad) ; Chris (Tamara) Fladung, David (Lauren) Fladung; Daniel Fladung, Erica Fladung, Derek Fladung; Katie Zotti, Laura (Matt) Morrissey, Chris (Ariana) Raab; and 15 great-grandchildren: Cate Popia, Connor Popia; Max Lee, Penny Lee; Henry Fladung, Elijah Fladung, Isabel Fladung, Wyatt Fladung, Everett Fladung, Harvey Fladung; Ethan Fladung, Carson Fladung, Brooklyn Fladung; Ella Zotti, Liv Rife. Rosemary is survived by sister-in-law, Norma Burdis, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

We will miss Rosemary. She was a special person and a true treasure in our neighborhood. We had so many wonderful conversations over the years. We offer our sincere condolences to her family.

I was blessed to live next to Rosemary for around 17 years. She was such a strong woman and loved her family and home. She was always working in her yard and took a lot of pride in it. She keep me on my toes making sure our yard was up to her standards. She will be missed. Jamie and Peter weaver.
