July 4, 1940 - September 16, 2021
Gardner , Kansas - Shirley Ann Fortner of Gardner Kansas, passed away on September 16, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born July 4, 1940 to Raymond and Christine Baucom. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Horace Baucom. Shirley is survived by her husband of over 63 years, Harold Fortner, Also surviving are daughter Michelle (Jeff) Vogt of Freeport, Florida, son Eric (Lisa) Fortner of Gardner, three grandchildren Erin (Matt) Stealey, Amanda Fortner and Jack Fortner , and three great grandchildren Landen, Kinlie and Lennon Stealey. She also has two sisters and a sister in law Annette Dumas, Raymia Knestrict, Wanda Haley and several nieces and nephews.
Shirley retired after many years working with H and R Block. Before her illness, she enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking and most importantly spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
