STANLEY HOSTETLER Obituary

Stanley G. Hostetler, 78, of Olathe, Kan., passed away May 29, 2013. He was born June 8, 1934, in Kress, Texas, the son of Edgar and Helen (Finley) Hostetler. Stan graduated from Kress High School in 1952. He went on to Lipperts Business School where he studied court reporting. He was a court reporter for 49 years. He was owner and operator of Hostetler & Associates, Inc., Court Reporting. Stan was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Hostetler, his father, Edgar Hostetler, two brothers, Robert Hostetler and Rex Hostetler and a son, David Hostetler. Stan loved to read, garden, cook, and travel with his wife and family and close friends and spend time with his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Hostetler of 60 years, of the home, his sons, Kelly Hostetler of Louisburg, Kan., Scott (Chris) Hostetler of Shawnee, Kan., Stephen (Susan) Hostetler of Shawnee, and Douglas (Patti) Hostetler, Spring Hill, Kan. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Heather (Curt) Coutts, Gardner, Kan., Sally (Shannon) Moore, Shawnee, Alan Hostetler, Shawnee, Laura (Will) Reese, Overland Park, Kan., Shayla (Aaron) Riley, Olathe, and Stephen Hostetler, Shawnee. He also leaves behind 10 great grandchildren, Kelsey Standen, Brianna Hostetler, Shannon, Braydon and Juddson Moore, Jillian, Meredith, Thompson and Genevieve Reese and Locklan Riley. He will also be greatly missed by all his extended family and friends. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 143rd and Blackbob, Olathe.
