Stephen Harrell Obituary

Stephen Carroll Harrell, 55, of Kansas City, Kan., died Friday, May 1, 2009, at his home. The family requests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association, 10580 Barkley, Suite 400, Overland Park, KS 66212. Steve was born June 19, 1953, in Pocahontas, Ark., and had lived in Kansas City most of his life. He was a 1971 graduate of Wyandotte High School. Steve owned Marcy's Restaurant at 2631 N.E. Vivion Road, Kansas City, Mo., for 22 years. He was honest and a hard- worker. Steve was an avid model car collector and enjoyed baseball and Corvettes. Survivors include his parents, Max and Edna Harrell, of Gladstone, Mo.; sister Dianne Harrell and brother-in-law Thomas Imig, Mission Hills, Kan.; a niece, Cory, and nephew Matthew Imig; beloved companion of 22 years, Joyce E. Gregory, Kansas City, Mo., and many friends. A memorial service is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2009, at White Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. (Arr.: White Chapel Funeral Home, at 816-452-8419.)
