THOMAS EUGENE BINGHAM

Thomas Eugene (Gene) Bingham, age 86, of N. Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2013 at his son's home in Sierra Vista, AZ. Born on December 20, 1926 in Kansas City, MO, to his parents, Tony Bingham and Hester (Thomas) Bingham, Gene was the oldest of 5 children. He married Clarice Ida Lacey, in Miami, OK, in September of 1948. They had 3 children together. Gene served in the Navy as an airplane mechanic for 4 years during WWII. He was a longtime resident of Missouri for all but 10 years spent in Arkansas and was employed for 25 years by Northwestern National Insurance Co. as a Claims Adjuster and was promoted to Claims Manager. Some of the things he enjoyed were hunting, fishing, reading, music, studying the Bible, and of course, his family. Preceded in death by beloved spouse, Clarice; daughter, Peggy; and siblings, Imogene, Eddie, Gerry, and Karen. Gene is survived by his loving wife of the last 16 years, Daris; children, Dr. Ray E. (Rocky) Bingham (Kathy) and Wade Bingham (Shirley); grandchildren, Kara Nutt (Jim), Kami Sims (Michael), and Dr. Jason Bingham (Jackie); great grandchildren, Johnathan, Timothy, and Jackson; as well as many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service and celebration of life for Gene at 2pm on Tuesday May 28 at Floral Hills. Visitation will be from 1-2pm.
