TIMOTHY GUTSCHENRITTER Obituary

GUTSCHENRITTER Timothy Edwin (Gooch) Gutschenritter, 56, died peacefully at home May 2, 2012, among family and friends after a long battle with cancer. Tim was born Aug. 8, 1955, in KCMO to David and Nancy Gutschenritter, the third child of four. He was raised in KCK where he graduated from Turner High School. There he met Brenda, his high school sweetheart, and was later married in the summer of 1973. After being married eight years they welcomed their first son, Timmy, in 1980. They welcomed their second son, Dallas, in 1982. In 1976, Tim began working for The Board of Public Utilities in operations. He transferred to the paint shop in 1981. Tim was promoted in 1993 to supervisor of the paint shop, until he retired in September 2010. After retiring, Tim took a fishing trip to Minnesota and was planning a retirement party after the winter holidays. Thanksgiving came and shortly after, Tim suffered a massive heart attack. In March of 2011 he was diagnosed with lung cancer and the toughest battle of his life. Gooch enjoyed promoting his boys in the music industry as they traveled state to state, performing in nightclubs and dive bars. He even started his own record label in order to help get his boys' music noticed. Tim was known in the local music scene for promoting local bands and booking out-of-town acts. One of his favorite bands was Season to Risk, but most of all he loved his boys' band, The Sunshine Vandals, and National Fire Theory. Tim loved fishing, working in his yard, and riding his Harley Davidson, especially when it was supporting local charities like Bikers for Babies and Putts for Mutts. He made his final ride, a poker run in 2011, for high school friend, Ralph Johnson. Tim is preceded in death by his father, David, and his sister, Susan. Survived by his loving wife, Brenda; two sons, Tim and Dallas; daughters-in-law, Amy and Jade; his only grandchild and love of his life, McCartney Pearl; his mother, Nancy; two brothers, David Lee and Mark; his mother-in-law, Billie Lee Jaster; his brother-in-law, Kenneth Jaster; sisters- in-law, Shirley Hedges, Diana Lee, Susan Rutledge, Janet Patton and numerous nieces and nephews, great and great- great; as well as many others that he considered family. His beloved dogs proceeding him, Tiny Lou, Hooker Doo, Cookie, Tabitha, Rosie, Aries, Leila and Willie. He leaves behind his two dogs, Lucy Mae and Lilly Mae, who miss their loving doggie daddy. Tim's wishes were to have a Celebration of Life Memorial which will be held from 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Pierson Community Center (Pierson Park), 1800 S. 55th St., Kansas City, Kan. The family would like to thank Hope Cancer Center, KU Cancer Institute, KC Hospice, Cancer Action and Tom Finnill and the girls of Bond Pharmacy along with a special thanks to Lori Kemper RN and Dr. Pam Harris for their special care they gave Tim during a very difficult time. Gooch,

The world needs more people like you. You will be truly missed. You always supported you sons in their musical efforts and I admired you for this. You were a kind man that always offered to lend a hand to the rest of our musical community. Always incredibly proud of the boys each time I would see you at their shows and look how well they've done! Dallas and Tim have always been some of my favorite friends to share the stage with. Go in peace. Glad to have known you.

Hippie we all miss you so much & our hearts hurt knowing we won't get to see you out in your yard or taking off on your Harley or you teasing & harassing us every chance you got. I have so many stories I could tell living next door to you for 21 yrs. that I could probably write a book! So many good memories that I will cherish forever. You were a great neighbor, friend, & stand in dad for my girls when needed (which was quite often). I could never thank you enough for all the special things you did just because you wanted to. You have touched all our hearts in so many ways & things will never be the same w/o you. Much love to you til we meet again...<3
