Va'a Alo P. Malolo

Va'a Alo P. Malolo, 78, of Independence, MO, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2003, at Castle Medical Center in Kailua, Honolulu, Hawaii. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 19 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 705 W. Walnut, Independence, MO, 64050. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 18 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel. Mr. Malolo was born August 6, 1925, in Western Samoa. He retired as a machine operator from the Kerr McGee Railroad. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Independence, 2nd Ward. He was preceded in death by his wife Ila Pearl Malolo on October 11, 2002, two sons, Lui Malolo on February 6, 1997, and Viliamu Malolo on September 6, 1997, and a sister Tuvao Malolo Pulusi of Western Samoa. Survivors include three sons, Critchlow Malolo of Castle Dale, UT, Malcolm Malolo of Charlotte, NC, Va'a Malolo, Jr., of Laie, HI, three daughters, Vernetta Memea of Laie, HI, Lina Parker of Jonesboro, GA, and Glanice Penton of Zachary, LA; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister Ruth Epenesa Malolo Westhead of Auckland, New Zealand; and many extended family members and friends.
