Everyone reaches the same point at the same time....it's when the time comes, we can look at our parents to see their footsteps and the paths they took, and see how they did, how they shaped us, taught us, and instilled values, and the way we treat those around us. I never knew of Lorenda's mother, but after seeing the responses and memories, I wish I had of. I'm very sure that these positive traits are the result of the way Mae raised her kids. I'm sorry for the loss for the whole family. Godspeed.

The first time I met Mae was at the Blue Ridge Mall back in 1985. She was at my work asking for Jeff who was in trouble about something. She wasn't mad per say, but her humor about it made me laugh. It wasn't until many years later at Lorenda's work I got to meet up and see her again. She was exactly as I remembered her. Same kind smile. Same sense of humor. She was a very easy person to get to know and like. When I learned of her diagnosis earlier all I could remember was her smile and like everyone else I was hoping for the best. The last time I saw her was at her home. She still had her smile and we told some jokes. She had been going thru her chemo and I was teasing her how well she looked for just doing so. I gave her her papertwork and the doorbell rang. I said Uh oh, here's another young man to come see you. She smiled and said How's my hair look? I laughed and gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek and told her to keep up the fight. That's how I want to remember her. With her beautiful smile. Lorenda, Jeff, Liz, Candy, Kerrie, I don't need to tell you what a wonderful person your mom was. You all know. I am just glad I have the memories I do of her and I was blessed to call her friend. She was well loved and I will miss her. God bless you all and your families.
