Wade LaDue Obituary
August 31, 1935 - July 20, 2021
Independence, Missouri - LTC Wade William LaDue of Independence, Missouri and Holmes Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2021.
A graduate of University of Missouri Class of 1957, he lettered in baseball and made many lifelong friends in Sigma Chi . Commissioned in the Army, he worked 3 years for the Kansas City Athletics before embarking on his 24-year Army career as a pilot and in public relations. After the Army, he served as public relations director for the VFW national headquarters and with his wife Gloria, owned Destinations Unlimited travel in Blue Springs.
A member of Sigma Chi, VFW, and First United Methodist, Wade loved flying, traveling, golf, music, friends, family and Bisbee.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Gloria, children Paul (Katrina), Ginny Gordanier (Kyle), grandchildren Cody (Tirzah)and Ella Raney, Kim(Zac) Parks, Robert Gordanier, Nick and Elise LaDue and great-grandchildren Izabella and Bo.
In lieu of flowers, donations to First United Methodist Church, 301 SW Woods Chapel Rd., Blue Springs 64015 are suggested.
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 3 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, Blue Springs.

Just came across the obituary for LTC LaDue. He was our commanding officer in the Army Public Affairs Office in Kaiserslautern toward the end of my tour of duty in Germany in 1976. I remember he invited the staff to his home for a wonderful gathering and we had a great time. I remember him telling me about his time when he did public relations for Charlie Finley and the Kansas City A's and he shared some great stories. I liked Major LaDue a lot. Very sorry to hear of his passing.
