Arlene J. Havlicek, age 86, of Geneva, formerly of West Chicago, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born June 15, 1935, in Chicago, the daughter of Erwin J. Alexa and Mary "Mitzi" (Pink) Bingham.
Arlene enjoyed traveling, reading, playing cards, and dominos with friends. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years George Jr; children Regina (Arne) Swanson of Aurora, George III (Lynn) of Geneva, Janine Henning of Geneva, and Jennifer (Ken) Shelton of Elburn; grandchildren Carly (Bill) Marshall, Ian (Rachel) Swanson, Annie (Manuel) Havlicek de Sanchez, Alex (Jillian) Serrato, Jerry (Ashley) Henning, Grace (Doug) Rosenstein, Rachelle (Zak) Kates, and Alexa and Samantha Shelton; 11 great-grandchildren; and many other dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Joseph "Joey" Havlicek, and grandson Greg Havlicek.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State St., Route 38, Geneva.
Funeral prayers will be held Wednesday, February 16, at 9:30 a.m. at Malone Funeral Home, proceeding to Celebration of funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva.
Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva, Illinois 60134.
