Jeffrey B. Sorce Obituary
Died: Dec. 3, 2010; in Geneva
GENEVA – Jeffrey B. Sorce, 65, of Geneva, passed away Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Delnor Hospital, surrounded by his family.
He was born Feb. 9, 1945, in Elgin, the son of James and Nancy (Bay) Sorce.
Jeff attained his BA and MBA from Southern Illinois University. He was a limited partner for 30 years with Bear Stearns and Company in Chicago. He loved to sail, was an avid reader and loved music, especially going to rock concerts with his daughter. He was a longtime member of The Geneva Golf Club where he was an excellent golfer and tennis player. His greatest enjoyment in life however was spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jean Aley; two children, Catherine Sorce and Gordon (Lanay) Sorce, both of Geneva; three grandchildren, Sarah and Sean Sorce and Jeffrey "J.D" Magnuson; and his brother, James Sorce.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Sally Sorce.
Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 320 Franklin St., Geneva, with the Rev. Mark Tusken officiating.
Interment will be private.
Memorials may be made to the Jennifer Liedberg Fund, c/o of St. Mark's Discretionary Fund, 320 Franklin St., Geneva, IL 60134. (Please put MS in memo line.)

Dear Sorce Family,
Even though for only a short time, I am so blessed to have met and known Jeffrey.
I could tell from his expressions while listening to our conversations that he found great peace in knowing that all his hard work and planning was so noble and selfless, that it was going to carry on long after he was gone. He had done it again.
From talking those most close to him, it is clear that his impact was profound and the legacy and tales of the “Last Cowboy” will last generations.
