Jennifer Lynn Keen, 56, of South Elgin, passed away on August 11, 2018.
She was born in DeKalb on July 21, 1962 to Michael and Muriel Thompson.
She is survived by her husband, Ron W. Keen, Sr.; children, Clint Walt and Sean Harold; grandchildren, Maddie, Maggie, Kaci, TJ and Brandon; her mother; siblings, Michael (Molly) Thompson, Becky Estenssoro, Nancy (David) Moline; stepchildren, Wayne Keen, Kari (Tim) Smith, Tim Keen, Brett (Kelsey)Keen.
She is preceded in death by her father; brother, Christopher Thompson.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 7:00PM at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial was private. Visitation was from 4:00 to 8:00PM.

It has been almost three years to the day that a great Spiritual light left us to return home. We are still not used to the emptiness. Other Black Lions have left us since then and I know you were there to greet them. That comforts us all. We miss you, Jen. We always will. Sweet Jennifer, It's been a whole year since you passed away and returned home. I was just at the Reunion of the First Infantry Division in Baltimore and it was wonderful to see Ron there and to be able to talk with him about you and your many years together. I know you peek in once in a while and I thank you for being such a Light Bearer for all the Black Lions' Families. We all miss you and love you. Dave and Sheila Aldridge

Ron, Jim and I are heart broken at the loss of Jen. We so enjoyed her company at the reunions. They were always fun times with lots of laughter. We will miss those times but will always remember them. We know what a difficult time it is for you just know that you also have our love and friendship and we are here for you. Dear Ron and family, Marilyn and I are so sorry to learn of this unexpected and so untimely loss. We enjoyed being with you at the BRO and Black Lions CP in Lombard. We are "floored", as you must be. Jen looked like one of the healthiest people in the room.
May you find peace in knowing that whatever the pains of life might be, her's are over and we must embrace the good times and great memories. Lord only knows when it will be our turn.
