Died: April 20, 2022
Jewel M. Anderson nee Bartels, aged 84 of St. Charles, passed away on April 20, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Jewel retired as a teacher for Illinois School District D303 after 36 years of service. She was happy to be able to say she accomplished her life's goal by "Making a difference in the life of a child". Jewel is the beloved wife of 61 years to Jerry. Loving mother of Eric (Jenny) and the James (the late Diane) Anderson. Proud grandmother of Daniel, Jillian and Elizabeth. Great grandmother of Emma and Michael. Donations can be made to the Delta Kappa Gamma Beta Theta Chapter. Services were private.

My heart hurts for your family. She was so wonderful caring and kind. Jewel was my kindergarten teacher back in the 60´s at Wasco school. We reconnected at a store over 15 years ago she hadn´t changed a bit. God bless and comfort you.

Mrs. Anderson was such a kind colleague. She helped me as a new teacher to Munhall in 1991 navigate being a new teacher! She was just a graceful educator with TONS patience!!!! Thinking and remembering...heaven is lucky to welcome her soul! Thoughts and prayers to the family!
