DeKALB – Robert F. De Raedt, 83, of DeKalb, passed away Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Provena Pine View Care Center in St. Charles.

Born July 11, 1927, in St. Charles, the son of Charles L. and Anna Bertha (Verhasselt) De Raedt, he married Phyllis J. Peterson on June 3, 1950, in St. Charles.

Robert was a graduate of St. Charles High School, class of 1945, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was a carpenter for 35 years and was employed by Luther Peterson General Contractor in St. Charles. He was a member of the Carpenter Union Local in Geneva and the Moose Club of St. Charles.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his daughter, Nancy (Jeff Green) De Raedt of Maple Park; several nieces, nephews and cousins; three brothers-in-law, Donald Peterson of Richey, Montana, Robert Peterson of South Padre Island, Texas, and Richard (Frank Colson) Peterson of Rockford.

He is preceded in death by one brother, Leonard "Don" De Raedt; and his parents.

Cremation has taken place at the Anderson Funeral Home Crematory. Interment of cremated remains will be at a later date.
