BULL VALLEY - Thomas M. DeMarco, 73, of Bull Valley, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at Centegra Hospital - McHenry.
He was born Jan. 3, 1935, in Chicago, to Louis and Vittoria (Micito) DeMarco. On July 26, 1958, he married Geraldine V. Karczcwski at St. Ferdinand Church in Chicago.
Formerly of Chicago, he was a resident of Bull Valley for the past 12 years. He was the inventor, founder and CEO of DeMarco Vacuum Corp. of McHenry. For more than 40 years, he was a leader in the industrial vacuuming industry, receiving numerous U.S., Canadian and other foreign patents and trademarks in the vacuum industry.
He enjoyed traveling extensively, visiting places throughout the world. He was proud of his Italian heritage and enjoyed classical music and jazz. At his home in Bull Valley, he loved to nurture his many oak trees.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Geraldine; five children, Michael (Lynn) DeMarco of McHenry, Christine DeMarco of West Dundee, Louis DeMarco of St. Louis, Janice Papic of Bull Valley and Thomas (Veronica) DeMarco of Lakewood; 11 grandchildren, Leo, James, Cara, Sarah, Steve, Joshua, Anna, Daniel, Dominic, Nicole and Anthony; two sisters, Cecilia (the late Carl) Roth of Villa Park and Carmella (Nicholas) Nickl of Olive Branch, Miss.; a brother, Robert (Teresa) DeMarco of Chicago; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, until the memorial Mass celebration at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Holy Apostles, 5211 W. Bull Valley Road, McHenry. The Rev. Robert Sherry will officiate.
Inurnment will follow in the Columbarium Garden of The Church of Holy Apostles Cemetery.
