Eric Meyer Obituary
Dr. Eric Meyer went to rest in the arms of his Savior on April 24, 2025. He was 75 years old.
Eric was born on May 22, 1949 in Reseda, California to Dr. Frank and Lavella Meyer. Eric graduated from Reseda High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 18 at Los Alamitos Naval Base, and served four years as a jet mechanic on A-4 Skyhawks. He was also part of the first group to work on F-14 Tomcat fighter jets aboard the USS Lexington during the Vietnam War. He had a passion for aviation, so much so that he obtained his pilots license.
Eric attended Cleveland Chiropractic College and graduated in three years rather than four. He came from a family of chiropractors, as both his father and brother were chiropractors in Yreka. Eric took over his father's practice and treated family and the community for over 37 years. He was so kind and caring, and he even treated some at no cost. He was respected by his colleagues who would look to him for diagnostic advice. It was his wisdom and patience that truly drew people to him. He built relationships with his patients and peers.
Eric married the love of his life, Donna, in 2011. He was happiest when he was with his soulmate and his family. He made sure his grandkids knew how special and loved they were.
Eric leaves behind his wife, Donna; his three daughters: Yvonne Amaral (Terry), Kelly Diggle (Andrew), and Misty Meyer (Nate); a stepson, Chris Tribon (Sam); a stepdaughter, Danielle Daly (Tyler); twelve grandchildren: Sean Berry, Kevin Berry (Kassandra), Brenden Berry, Julia Adams, Austin Diggle, Amber Chaffin (Chaz), Kyra Nash (Chandler), CJ Pewitt, Drew Pewitt, David Tribon, Ethan Tribon and Stetson Daly; five great grandchildren: Charlotte Chaffin, Cruz Chaffin, Ellie Nash, Easton Nash and Donavan Berry; two nephews, Mike Ferrigno and Jason Meyer (Elena); and niece Jennifer Marietti (Steve).
Eric was preceded in death by his father, Frank Meyer (stepmom Edith), mother Lavella Long (John), brother Robin Meyer, sister Carol Guzman (Joe), sister Lynn Anderson, and step sister Linda Aguinga.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Girdner Funeral Chapel in Yreka. Interment will follow with military honors at Evergreen Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Riger and Madrone Hospice for all the loving care that they have provided.
