Gail Eastman Obituary

Gail Eastman

Gail Eastman was born in Bend, Oregon, in December 1942

to Paul and Dorothy (Mills) Stafford. She is survived by an

older sister Luella Rice and a younger sister Evelyn Mitts.

When Gail was five, the family moved to Klamath Falls. In

high school she enjoyed skiing, playing the string bass, and

the piano. Her family attended Klamath Temple, where Gail

met her future husband, Donald Eastman. One of their

interests was ice skating together in nature. They attended

Southern Oregon College where she earned a bachelor's

degree in elementary education.

On August 15, 1964, Gail married Donald Eastman. The

couple settled in Medford, Oregon, where they have lived in

the same house for 59 years. Gail began her career as a

teacher. After the births of her children Monica and Scott,

she devoted herself to raising her family. Later she worked

as a records deputy for the Jackson County Sheriff.

Gail was an active member of Eastwood Baptist Church,

developing a strong community of friends and providing

leadership on the Deacon Board, Pastoral Search

Committees and outreach activities such as the College

Care Packages.

Throughout her life, she was fond of camping at Lake of the

Woods and the Oregon Coast. When Gail and Don became

grandparents, they loved visiting their grandkids, from

Alaska to California and Romania. They were thankful to

take several trips throughout Europe and the Middle East.

She shared her love of art, music, and practicing her

Spanish with her kids and grandkids.

Gail is survived by Donald, her husband of 62 years, her

sisters Luella Rice and Evelyn Mitts and husband Richard;

daughter Monica and her husband Sid; son Scott and his

wife Anamaria; grandchildren Adam and his wife Michelle,

Alex and Claire, Sam and Haylee, Alexandra, Stefan, and

great-grandson Morgan, and preceded in death by her

brother-in-law Don Rice.

Gail passed from life into life on February 6, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, consider donating to Maslow Project or the

Medford Gospel Mission.
