Laural Snook Obituary
Laural Janet Jewett Snook, affectionately known as Lollie to her friends and family, passed away peacefully in her home of more than 50 years on September 21, 2025, Born on August 16, 1933, in Central Point, Lollie lived a vibrant and fulfilling life that touched the hearts of many.
Lollie's life was marked by her dedication to her family and her passion for her interests. She leaves behind a loving family, including her sister and brother-in-law Pat and Vern Parent, her son, Gary and his wife Joann; her daughter, Janet and her husband Paul; her cherished grandchildren, Kelsi, Kalen, Kevin, Gabe, Ben, and Zach; and her adored great-grandchildren, River and Hazel Lollie also held a special place in the lives of her numerous nieces and nephews, who will miss her deeply.
For many years, Lollie served as a supportive aide at Scenic Middle School, where she was known for her kindness and patience. Her gentle guidance and thoughtful nature left a lasting impact on the students and staff she worked with.
Lollie's talents were many, and she shared them generously with those around her. A talented piano player and accompanist, she brought music into the lives of countless individuals. Her skills as a seamstress and her ability to create beautiful crochet pieces were admired by all who were lucky enough to receive one of her handcrafted items. Lollie's love for cooking was evident in the delicious meals she prepared for her family and friends, and her love for the outdoors shone through in her enthusiasm for hiking.
Lollie often spoke of the fun times she had traveling with her husband, Gene and his sister Pat and husband Vern. They went on many trips together and sometimes I would catch her laughing aloud with a memory from their adventures together. She also found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as solving crosswords and spending time with her loved ones. Lollie's life was a testament to the words of Helen Keller: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched-they must be felt with the heart."
Lollie was the embodiment of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her and in the many lives she touched with her gentle soul. Her memory will be cherished, and her presence will be sorely missed.
Walt Whitman once said, "Keep your face always toward the sunshine-and shadows will fall behind you." Lollie lived by this creed, always finding the light, always seeking the positive, and inspiring others to do the same. Her life reminds us that every day is a gift, and to live it fully is the greatest honor we can give to this extraordinary existence.
As we bid farewell to Lollie, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and the beauty of shared moments. Her spirit will continue to inspire us to live life with the same grace and compassion that she exemplified every day.
