Logan Marlow Obituary
Logan Robert Marlow was born on Tuesday, November 18, 1997, 8:45 am, at Providence Medford Medical Center, Medford, Jackson County, Oregon - the son of Glenn Dennis and Wanda Marie (Marlow) Burton.
He began his heavenly journey on Saturday, June 28, 2025, 6:37 am, in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, at the age of 27 years, 7 months, 11 days -OR- to say it another way he spent his earthly time with our families for 10,085 days.
His elementary education started in the Medford 549c School District at Oak Grove Elementary, then he transferred into the Phoenix-Talent School District #4 continuing his education at Orchard Hill Elementary, Talent Middle-High, and Phoenix High School. Post high school, he attended Rogue Community College.
As a youngster he was a cub scout in the Phoenix scouting program. In the first year as a cub, he won first place with his pinewood derby race car that he assembled from a kit. His membership into the organization "The Friends of Crater Lake National Park" started in his grade school years, continuing well beyond his high school years.
He was employed at several business locations in the Rogue Valley: Fred Meyer in Medford, Home Depot in Phoenix, and Silly Zack's Gluten Free Bakery in Central Point to where he rode his gasoline powered bicycle five to six days a week in all weather conditions to get the cookie dough mixed, baked, and packaged.
He loved nature, just being outdoors in the hills and mountains enjoying the natural environment. One recreational activity he truly enjoyed was riding motorcycles and motorcycle quads on a mountain called John's Peak and on the sand dunes of the coastal beaches with his dad. He loved going to historical sites, national parks, and monuments. He had the opportunity to visit Yellowstone and Teton National Parks. He also visited Alaska where he had a memorable fishing trip with his brother, Mateo.
He loved animals, especially cats and dogs, of which he had several of each over the years. He sure had a talent for understanding the nature of animals.
He enjoyed cooking, of which he was a darn good cook. He could prepare a full meal, clean the kitchen, and wash the dishes in no time flat. Each year at Grandma Dee's house he was excited to help and learn the process and technique for making ravioli and tasty treats for the holiday season. He always helped hang the outside house lights and decorate the Christmas tree.
His dream was to attend university/college to acquire a degree in one of the life sciences [forestry, botany, biology, fisheries, wildlife, etc] so that he could attain employment with the Burean of Land Management, Forest Service, or the Park Service. His preference was the Park Service: to be a Park Ranger, either Crater Lake or Yellowstone National Park.
Those who knew Logan will remember him for his sweet demeanor and ability to make anyone laugh until their belly hurt. He was such a light in this world.
Initial funeral arrangements were made with Musgrove Family Mortuary, Eugene, Lane County, Oregon; final arrangements completed with Girdner Funeral Chapel, Yreka, Siskiyou County, California.
A private memorial service will be held at his grave site in the Fort Jones Catholic Cemetery, Fort Jones, Siskiyou County, California, on July 18, 2025, at 11:00 am, Officiated by Reverend Dean Marshall, Parochial Administrator of Saint Joesph's Catholic Church in Yreka, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Scott Valley, and missions in Etna, Happy Camp, Sawyer's Bar and Hawkinsville, California.
A public Celebration of Life will be held in the future for all to attend.
Logan is preceded in death by his father Glenn Dennis Marlow, paternal grandmother DeEtte (Dee) Leone Marlow, maternal grandfather James (Jim) Fielder, Bruce Vanover, and Teah DeShane.
He is survived by his mother Wanda Burton, stepfather Rodney Burton, and siblings Brandi and Mateo.
