Richard Kegg Obituary

Richard Ona Kegg was born on June 17, 1938, to Ona Vivian Kegg and Mildred Grace Mort. As a fourth-generation member of the Kegg family in Little Shasta Valley, Richard's deep ties to his community were both lasting and meaningful. He cherished his family's heritage and took pride in their legacy.

On November 2, 1963, Richard married Iva (Louise) Kegg, beginning a loving marriage that lasted over sixty years. Together, they built a devoted partnership and raised a family grounded in love and respect. Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine (Kegg) Miller, and his brother, Fred Kegg.

Richard spent over fifty years working as a truck driver, demonstrating unwavering dedication and a strong work ethic throughout his career. Retiring in 2013, he was highly respected in his field. Colleagues and friends recognized him for his warmth, integrity, and the positive influence he had on those around him. As a lifelong Jehovah's Witness, Richard also held Little Shasta Valley close to his heart.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and played a key role in developing local reservoirs in the Little Shasta area. Richard worked as a long-haul trucker for Timber Products for more than fourteen years, specializing in hauling logs and veneer. His vast experience, reliability, and ability to handle the unique challenges of trucking earned him a reputation as an expert in the industry.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Louise, and their four children: Leo Washburn, Joanne Marci, Jean Johndreau, and Scott Kegg. He also leaves behind ten adored grandchildren: Chloe, Noah, Avery, Sophia, Isabelle, Jordan Hope, Zachary, Alle, and Ethan. His family fondly remembers him with deep affection and gratitude.
