Aurelio R. Gomez

Aurelio R. Gomez, 75, of Mecca, CA went on to glory with God on Sunday, October 21, 2007, peacefully at his home in Mecca, CA. Don Aurelio was born in Las Gunillas, Michoacan, Mexico on November 14, 1931 to Don Jose Guadalupe Gomez and Margarita Gomez. He was a valley resident for over fifty years. He worked as a Heavy Machine Operator in the agricultural business in the valley until his well deserved retirement a few years ago. He was a dedicated family man who spent all his time enjoying his friends and family, either here at his home in Mecca, or at various locations here in the U.S. and including Mexico. Don Aurelio is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Carmen; two beautiful daughters, Klaudia Salazar and Margarita Gomez-Mata, both of Indio; his grandsons, Brian, Gabriel, Devon, and Erik Salazar, Julian and Giancarlo Mata, and his only granddaughter, Isabella "Camila" Mata, all of Indio CA. Viewing will be Monday, October, 29, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at FitzHenry Funeral Home, 82-975 Requa in Indio, CA. A funeral mass is scheduled for Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 9:00 am. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 65-000 Dale Kiler Mecca, CA The family wishes to thank all for their love, support and prayers during this time of need.
