He made many friends and memories in all the activities he was involved in. No matter what Dave did he always had fun and made everybody laugh. He collected guns, fire trucks and tractors. A large part of his life was his volunteerism.

To the Schenk family, I am so sorry to hear about Dave. I think the last time that I saw him was at our 10 year high school class reunion. Growing up on Lariat Lane brings back many fond memories. We, as neighborhood kids use to have a lot of fun together. Dave touched the lives of many. My deepest sympathy to you all.

To Dave’s Family,
We are deeply saddened, along with you, to know we will never get to see Dave here on earth or talk on the phone with him again. We can only imagine the perfect golf course he is playing on in Heaven!
Even though we didn’t get together with him near enough, the times we had going on trips to several weddings will continue to give us some wonderful memories. We also treasure the memories of having him as an usher in our own wedding 25 years ago, a deer hunting trip, a visit from him at the hospital to see us, but only got to sit & comfort me in the waiting room during Harlan’s knee surgery, and that ‘stop in to see us’ moment on his way back home from somewhere far away, but most of all the ‘good old college days’ memories.
May it bring you some kind of comfort to know that he touched our lives with his friendship and we will be forever thankful to call him a great friend!
A very special - one of a kind man!
He will be missed!
