Born on January 19, 1964, in Pueblo, Colo., to Leonard and Charlene (Sharrah) Sokolowski. Dave lived a life grounded in faith, service, and devotion to others. He graduated from Sioux City East High. He furthered his education at Morningside College. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Iowa College of Medicine and completed his residency in Sioux City which led to a fulfilling career as a family physician, with the last 32 years at Kearney Clinic.

Dave married Lisa Kallhoff at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Sioux City, Iowa, June 15, 1985. He loved his family unconditionally. He was a proud father to his four daughters: Megan (Adam Stone) Sokolowski, Stephanie (Ben) Rodenborg, Katelyn (Cody) Anthony, and Bailey (Tyler) Schnitzler. He never missed a chance to brag, support, and enjoy the laughter of his 10 grandchildren.

Dave was an outdoorsman enjoying his fishing trips to Snake River, travelling abroad, and simply enjoying the views from his back deck. "Long story short," he never missed a chance to tell stories and prank his friends with a mischievous grin. Dave had a gift for spreading joy to those around him with his contagious belly laugh and a wink to follow. He was a devout Catholic and found pride in his role with the St. James Music Ministry. His faith blended with his professional practice which led to not only offering medical treatment, but comfort, understanding, and genuine human connection with his patients. Dave was humbled and felt blessed as God guided his hands and heart through the babies he delivered.

Dave is survived by his parents, sister, Sherise (Mike) Carlson, Lisa, daughters, and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Charles and Florence Sharrah, and Alexander and Anna Sokolowski.

Dave will be deeply missed, but his legacy of faith, service, and love will continue to live on in all who knew him.

So Sorry for your loss. He was an Absolute Amazing friend not to mention my Doctor. We always talk especially on appointment day. Always shook my my hand and asked how things were going! Of course I asked how things were also. He would say he was looking forward to a fishing trip or adventure soon to come. I know he spoke of his daughters and how proud he was of there accomplishments. I am at a lost of words of how much this man meant to me and others in the medical profession. Such a wonderful Man. RIP Doc
