Esther LaRae Lucas, 94, of Litchfield, NE died on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Prairie View Gardens in Kearney, NE.

A Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Litchfield Christian Church. Visitation will be an hour prior to the start of the service. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Rasmussen Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Esther was born on March 3, 1931, to Raymond and Esther (Dailey) Reese in Pleasanton, NE. She received her education from Pleasanton High School graduating in 1948.

She married Bobbie Joe Lucas on April 14, 1949, in Loup City. The couple farmed near Litchfield before moving to Litchfield in 1974. Esther worked at Baldwin Filters in Kearney for many years as well as at the Café in Litchfield.

Esther enjoyed sewing, embroidery, quilting, and was a part of the Custers Last Stitch Quilt Guild in Broken Bow. She found joy sitting outside in the warm sunshine, which was fitting of her positive personality and always finding the bright side of any situation.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Cathie Eberle of Ansley and Karen (Steven) Avery of Minden; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth (Kristy) Lucas of Litchfield and Randy (Joy) Lucas of Kearney; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and sister, Sharon Trampe of Amherst.

Esther is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobbie; son-in-law, Kenneth Eberle; a great-granddaughter; four siblings and their spouses, Betty (Willard) Ohlman, Keith (Delores) Reese, Iris (Bernard) Krotz, and Maurine (Henry) Urwiller; and brother-in-law, Darell Trampe.
