November 29, 1959 - December 3, 2025
Gary R. Wuehler, 66, of Kearney passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at St. John's Good Samaritan Home in Kearney. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Kearney with Pastor Sean Dougherty officiating. Interment will follow at Stanley Cemetery near Amherst. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.
Gary was born on November 29, 1959, in Kearney to Clarence "Sonny" and Patricia (Campbell) Wuehler. He grew up in Amherst and graduated from Amherst High School in 1978. He attended the University of Nebraska-Kearney and earned his bachelor's degree.
Gary was united in marriage to Tammie Lewis in Kearney on February 25, 2006. He was a member of the AA, where he had a huge impact on those recovering from addiction. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was active in Bible Study. Faith and family were very important to Gary. He enjoyed listening to Christian music and most of all spending time with his loved ones.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tammie Wuehler of Kearney; mother, Patricia Wuehler Candy of Kearney; sister and brother-in-law, Patty (Jerry) Smith of Fairbury; stepchildren, Darci (Noah) Williams of Odessa, and Christine (Derek) Allen of Kearney; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sonny Wuehler; brother, Thomas Candy; and stepson, Heath Frink.

So sorry for the loss of Gary he was a wonderful cousin always had a smile I will miss seeing him when I come to visit Nebraska so sorry I can´t make his memorial so sorry for your loss Tammie and aunt Pat and Patty and all of his family
