June 3, 1935 - January 25, 2025
John M. McCammond, M.D., passed away 1-25-25. Services will be 11 a.m., February 1, 2025, at the First Presbyterian Church in Kearney. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., 1-31-25, at the funeral home.

He always had a smile when he would come up to the floor to check on his patients. Carried his black medical bag. He was a blessing to Kearney and all his patients.

Dr. McCammond was an amazing and compassionate family doctor. He delivered both of my children in the 1970s, and as my daughter was born, he was singing a popular song at the time: "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head." When I was in labor with my second child, I asked him to sing again for me, and since it was near Christmas, he began, "Unto you a son is born . . ." That was before parents didn't know the sex of their children until delivery. And it was a son!

Dr. McCammond was a fine man and doctor. When I was in high school, he was always so respectful and had a great sense of humor. My condolences to his family.
