Larry Wick, 83 of Omaha, formerly of Kearney, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, NE. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2025 at St. James Catholic Church in Kearney. Inurnment will follow at the Stanley Cemetery near Amherst, NE. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.

Larry was born April 2, 1942 in Kearney, NE to Roy B. and Ardell (Stover) Wick. He was the oldest of 13 children; six boys and seven girls. He was raised in Elm Creek, NE and attended Elm Creek High school, graduating in 1960. Larry then attended Kearney State College for two years.

Larry was united in marriage to Gloria Fellows on October 12, 1963. The couple was blessed with one son, Brian.

Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading. He also loved playing cards with friends as well as in neighborhood card clubs. He really enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and his goddaughter. He was a member of the Holt Missouri Rescue and Dive Team. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1971.

Larry worked in the insurance industry as an auditor and adjuster at Hartford for many years. Over the years, they lived in various cities, including Denver, Colorado, Holt, Missouri, and Omaha, and Scottsbluff and Kearney, Nebraska.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Brian Wick of Omaha; special friend, Sue Travis; siblings, Don Wick (Gaylene), Arlene Clark (Charlie), Mary Gray, Dan Wick (Denise), Ron Wick (Virginia), Lois Smith, Tom Wick (Barb), Ed Wick, Lena Jo Rouse, Christine Shahan (Kent); brothers and sisters in law, Gordon and Jody Fellows, Rod and Gayleen Else, Reno and Geraldine Bamford, and Garth Fellows; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gloria; two infant boys; infant sister, Darlene; sister, Patricia Newbauer; niece, Dana Fletcher; and nephews Jeff Hild and Mike Wick.
