Neil Christopher Stewart, 48 years of age, of Atlanta, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at his home. Neil was born in Kearney, Nebraska, on May 27, 1977, the first of two children, born to Guy and Novita (Mooney) Jensen. In 1984, Novita and Ray Stewart were married, and Ray adopted Neil and his brother Dustin. Neil received his education at Washington Elementary School and then transferred to R7 and later Holdrege High School, where he graduated with the class of 1996. On June 5, 1999, Neil was united in marriage to Amanda Spangler in Lincoln, Nebraska, and to this union, one son was born: Rhett Christopher. The marriage later ended in divorce. Neil then moved back home and started working for Holdrege Irrigation for four years before working for his brother at Stewart Tree Service.

Neil enjoyed hunting, fishing, cruising the back roads, and playing KENO. He loved spending time with his friends and family and talked to his brother every day.

He was an avid member of the Wild Turkey Federation and the Rocky Mountain Elk Federation.

Neil was preceded in death by his grandparents: Ray and Betty Mooney; Charles and Marie Stewart; Richard and Jeanine Jensen; and two uncles: Mike Hickman; and Robert Stewart.

Neil is survived by his son, Rhett Stewart and his girlfriend, Lexi Woodward of Murray, Nebraska; his mom, Novita Negley and her husband, Douglas of Holdrege; his dads, Guy Jensen and his wife, Eva of Orchard, Nebraska; Ray Stewart and his wife, Barbara of Atlanta; four brothers, Dustin Stewart of Atlanta; Ben Jensen and Amanda of Cozad, Nebraska, Matt Jensen and his wife, Dani of Jacksonville, Florida, Josiah Negley; aunts and uncles, James Mooney and his wife, Liane of Holdrege, Leonard Mooney and his wife, Jane of Holdrege, Peggy Hickman of Minden, Charlene Jensen of Arapahoe, Nebraska, Keith Jensen and his wife, Tish of Emmett, Idaho, Pat Noel and her husband, Larry of Beaver City, Nebraska, Shirley Stewart of Yuma, Colorado, Bobby Stewart of Norton, Kansas; great aunt, Carol Dietz and her husband, James of Stamford, Nebraska; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
