Ronald Kreutzer Obituary

Kearney resident, 75

KEARNEY - Ronald F. "Ron" Kreutzer, 75, of Kearney died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at Cambridge Court.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. James DeLoach officiating. Burial will be at Kearney Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 52, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 759 and the Kearney National Guard military honors squad.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services and before services Friday at the church.

He was born Dec. 30, 1937, in Kearney to Frederick C. and E. Arlein (Rose) Kreutzer.

On Aug. 27, 1961, he married Sharon M. Burge in Blue Hill.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Richard Kreutzer and his wife, Carol, of Kearney and David Kreutzer and his wife, Lynda, of Grand Island; daughters, Nancy Hanson and her husband, Bryan, of Holdrege and Susan Wurst and her husband, Lyle, of Hemingford; brothers, Charles Kreutzer and his wife, Kay, of Kearney, Jerry Kreutzer and his wife, Karen, of Lantana, Texas; sisters, Sharon Neben and her husband, Ron, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jan Garner of Lincoln; and eight grandchildren.

He grew up in Kearney where he attended school and was a graduate of Kearney High School in 1955. He enlisted in the National Guard in 1956 and served until he was discharged in 1966. He re-enlisted in 1975 and was a member until 1991. Ron and Sharon lived in Kearney where Ron worked at International Harvester for seven years and worked then in the maintenance department at Eaton Corp. for 30 years until he retired in 1999.

Ron was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served as chairman of the congregation, on the Board of Trustees and Board of Elders, as counter and was the radio broadcast engineer for several years. He was also a member of Lutheran Laymen's League and American Legion Post 52.

He was preceded in death by one child in infancy, three grandchildren and his parents.

Memorials are suggested to the Zion Radio Broadcast Fund, Zion Lutheran School or Heartland Lutheran High School.
