William Max "Bill" Schlund

William "Bill" Max Schlund, age 69, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Tabitha Prairie Commons surrounded by loved ones.

A celebration of life service with military honors will be held on Saturday, January 25th at 11am at All Faiths Funeral Home. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Condolences can be left at www.giallfaiths.com.

Bill was born on August 9, 1955 in Kearney to Edward E. and Hazel I. (Wolbing) Schlund. He grew up in Ravenna and graduated from High School in 1974. In 1975, he enlisted in the United States Army and served until he was honorably discharged in 1978. Bill took classes in Electronics Technology in Oklahoma.

In 1978, he was united in marriage to Debra Howard, to his union he gained two children, Nicole and Brian and together they had Derek. Bill later married Christie Robinson.

Bill worked for the Federal Aviation Administration. He loved to travel and his favorite place to be was at his cabin in Montana and often spent time there just watching all the nature move through his property. Bill spent his winters at Lake Texoma. As an avid outdoorsman, Bill enjoyed fishing, duck, bear and deer hunting. When not outdoors he could be found listening to podcasts and watching football.

Those left to cherish his memory include children, Nicole Schlund of Tooele, UT and Derek Schlund of Kearney; grandchildren, McKenzie, Katelyn and Dusty; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Waylon, Evelyn, Lila, Hudson and Emily; sisters, Lorrayne (Dave) Johnson of Cairo and Beth (Steve) Kiner of Aurora and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Christie Schlund; son, Brian Schlund and spouse Ginny; siblings, Edda Jean Schlund, David C. Schlund, Gail M. Trobough and Joan E. Cronn and niece, Jennifer Cronn.
