Darrell Dean Lewis

Darrell Lewis, 84, passed away at Sanford Health on January 2, 2024. Darrell Dean Lewis was born on April 26, 1939 in Mitchell, SD to Darrell and Norma Lewis. At an early age, he moved to Sioux Falls, SD. A memorial service will be held for Darrell at Heritage Funeral Home on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with burial at a later date at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery. See link at the end of Darrell's obituary to watch his service virtually on Zoom. Darrell worked for the City of Sioux Falls in the Parking Meter and Public Works Dept. for over 40 years. He was united in marriage to Mona Snodgrass. Mona passed away September 14 2022. He loved his puppy Addy and enjoyed working with HO scale model trains and was a previous member of the Sioux Valley Model Engineer's Society. Grateful for having shared his life are four children, Debra Lewis, Clearwater, FL. Lori and her husband Mike Buthe, Brandon, SD, Douglas and his wife, Laurie Lewis, Sykesville, MD, Gregory and his wife Lisa Lewis, Lake Norden, SD; 12 grandchildren, Jesse Johnson, Kayla (Dusty) Schumacher, Megan (Mitchell) Shiver, Gavin (Jaimie) Lewis, Andy (Amanda) Lewis, Alettie (Curt) Nagorske, Mary Lewis, Aliza (Jake) Tyrrell, Sarah Lewis, Sam Lewis, Elizabeth Buthe (Collin Hodkinson), Leo Lewis (Selena Hall); great-grandchildren, Kyle Schumacher, Jude Shiver, James Shiver, Emma Johnson, Reese Tyrrell, Tatum Nagorske, Liam Lewis, Rhodes Tyrrell, Hank Hodkinson, and Stevie Lewis. Darrell was preceded in death by his wife, Mona and by his first wife, Jean Gallagher; his parents Darrell Lewis and Norma Kruse; great-grandsons Keaton Schumacher and Gene Schumacher.
