Lee Friesen Obituary

Lee Allen Friesen, a wild spirit known for his infectious laugh and contagious smile, left us on January 27th, 2025, after a courageous fight with Huntington's Disease. Born on October 31, 1980, Lee lived a life full of laughter, joy and adrenaline. Lee is celebrated in this life by two loving parents, Tim and Patty Friesen; two adoring younger sisters, Megan (and Kyle Henning) and Melissa (and Walker Carmon); four nephews, Oliver John (6), Rylen Lee (4), Weston Timothy (2) and Parker Gregory (1), who will know their uncle Lee through shared memories; grandparents; aunts and uncles; cousins; and many, many friends. He is welcomed into the next life by family and friends who have passed before him. Lee approached life with a reckless abandon that most could never dare. In his 44 years of life, he lived a life that could fulfill 100 years' worth of memories. His giddy excitement when a large whitetail buck walked into range; his unwavering loyalty and faith for his Detroit Lions; his mischievous smirk after explaining how he got into the octagon with an amateur MMA fighter; his uncanny ability to lighten even the darkest mood by making you laugh are all things about Lee that will be remembered, cherished and celebrated. Lee lived his life wild, and he taught those around him that life shouldn't be serious. He made life fun. While his passing leaves an unfillable void in this world, Lee never wanted to be mourned. He wanted his loved ones to share the crazy stories of his escapades with tears of joy in their eyes. In honor of Lee and his always positive attitude, his life will be celebrated on February 8th, 2025, from 3:00 - 5:00pm at JJ's Bar (3000 W. 57th Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57108). Rest in joy, Leelo. Until we meet again.
