Luke Timmer Obituary
A memorial service will be held at a later date due to the current restrictions on public gatherings, in order to keep everyone safe.
Luke was born June 4th, 2001 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and had been living and attending school at LifeScape for the last several years.
Luke's squinty eyed smile and sense of humor was his trademark and would brighten even the worst of days. Even though Luke was non-verbal he had a perfect way of communicating with just his eyes. He especially enjoyed watching a good movie from his extensive movie collection or watching the Nascar races with his dad.
Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, Cindy and Charlie Timmer of Sioux Falls; his sister, Maggie Timmer, Sioux Falls; his sister, Becca (Dan) Erikson and his niece Adeline and nephews Stetson and Porter, Sioux Falls. Also grieving his loss are his maternal grandparents Mardell and Jerry Klockman, Sioux Falls; his paternal grandparents Ron and Sondra Timmer, Sioux Falls; and a host of other relatives and friends.
We would also like to say a special thank you to all medical staff at LifeScape, who became like a part of the family, for all their love and support to Luke.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to LifeScape Fisher Coon Unit.

I remember the day Luke was born! Bergen came home from school and said Becca had a baby brother! We have lost touch through the years but, I wanted you to know I thought of Luke a lot! Caring for Luke at Lifescape the past few years, he touched my heart with his sense of humor, strong will, big smile, and a face that would light up when family was near. I feel blessed to have known Luke and his wonderful family. Its so hard to say goodbye, but Luke will always have a special place in my heart.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Luke. I was one of his EAs his first year at John Harris. I remember him well. Such a sweetheart! I remember him enjoying any of the car books! Loved that smile of his! I pray you find comfort and peace during this difficult time.

Charlie and Cindy- I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of Luke. I enjoyed seeing his smile every time I worked with him. Heaven got a great person with a great smile. He will be deeply missed and I will never forget the great times we had.

I am truly blessed to have known and worked with Luke in school. I will always remember his great sense of humor and how he could crack a smile at a funny conversation even when you thought he wasn't listening. He was so loved by so many family and friends. We will all miss him very much.

Luke was a very special student to me. We got to spend two years learning together. I appreciated his bright smile and his silly sense of humor. It was remarkable how much he taught me during those 2 years. My heart is sad thinking about Luke not being on earth but I celebrate that he will have a heavenly body where he can tell everyone just what he wants to say and can run across a field like a deer. Please know that I would love to be at his memorial service. I want to celebrate his life.
