Mark Gregory Styles

Mark (Sparky) Styles, age 64, of Vermillion, South Dakota passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Sanford USD Medical Center with his son by his side. A Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 9, 2022 at Kober Funeral Home in Vermillion with Pastor Elmer "Sandy" Aakre officiating. Burial of ashes will take place at Bluff View Cemetery following the service. Visitation with family present will be an hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Sparky was born in Vancouver, Washington on September 27, 1958 to George and Evelyn (Johnson) Styles. They moved to Portland, Oregon where he spent his childhood. They later moved to Vermillion where he graduated high school in 1977. Sparky worked for Clay County Highway Department for many years. Sparky loved spending time with family and friends. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved cars, demo derby's, and racing stock cars. Sparky enjoyed spending time and playing dices with his good friends. Sparky was very excited to be a grandpa in May 2023, and couldn't wait to meet Baby Styles. He always would spend as much time as he could with his son Greg. They loved to smoke food together, along with doing many other activities together. Survivors include his son, Greg Styles (Jenica Haas), his sisters, MaryAnn Peterson, and Tonya (David) Haukass. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and good friends. Those that met him in heaven are his parents, brother, Dennis, and his two sisters, Sandy and Kay.
