Richard Joe Rodriguez

Richard Joe Rodriguez, age 84 of Belle Fourche died October 21, 2025. Richard was born March 29, 1941 in Waseca, Minnesota to Florentino and Erlinda Rodriguez. The family moved to Belle Fourche in 1941 and Richard attended school in Belle Fourche. He worked in Colorado and Idaho before entering the United States Army in 1962 and was honorably discharged in 1963. Richard reenlisted into the United States Navy in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1970. He moved back to Belle Fourche and started working at the sawmill. In 1989 he moved to Oregon and worked at a sawmill and casino before moving back to Belle Fourche in 2007. Richard enjoyed playing pool and guitar. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and most of all loved his dog Boo. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He is survived by his children, Dee Dee Rodriguez of Hamilton, MT, Patt (Terri) Rodriguez of Stevensville, MT, Richard (Shelley) Rodriguez of Rapid City, Carolyn Richter of Belle Fourche and Tim (Sandra) Rodriguez of Laramie, WY; stepdaughters, April, Elizabeth and Teresa; a brother, Joseph Rodriguez of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Lucy Oster of Belle Fourche and Jenny Rodriguez of Boise, ID; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his dog Boo. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Salvador, Tim, Clyde and Tony Rodriguez; sisters, Emma Ragland, Deloris Shepherd, Georgia Humann and Josie Hermanson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 25th at 11:00 am at Kline Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche. Visitation will be one hour before services. Interment will be at a later time in Pine Slope Cemetery. A lunch and fellowship will follow at the Joy Center in Spearfish.
