Barbara Lynn Berkhout, 41, passed away on April 5, 2017 in Houston, Texas.
She was born on March 19, 1976 in Aurora, Illinois. Barbara was a 1990 graduate of St. Mary Grade School in Plano and a 1994 graduate of Rosary High School. She attended University of Illinois and Midwestern University earning a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. At the time of her death, she was working as a Physical Therapist.
Barbara leaves behind many family and friends who will miss her very much. Survivors include her Mom, Patricia (Bill) Berkhout; Dad, Keith (Mary) Berkhout; Brother, Keith (Wendy) Berkhout and Sister, Julie (Alex) Martin. She is also survived by 4 nieces, Mackenzie, Kate and Avery Martin and Anastasia Berkhout. Her extended family includes the Dieser, Berkhout, Brouch, Vogtmann, Nelson and Cello Families.
Barbara loved animals, especially her dogs Charlie and Sadie.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations in her memory to the A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter in Naperville.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, May 6th at 2:00pm at St. Mary Church, 901 N. Center St., Plano, Illinois. A reception will be held immediately after from 3:30 to 6:30 at Timber Creek Inn and Suites, 3300 Drew Ave., Sandwich, Illinois.

My heart is breaking for you and your family. No mother should ever have to experience the awful feeling of losing a child. I know that Barbara had her struggles with diabetes. I'm so sorry about Barbara's passing. May the words at 1 Thessalonians 4:13,14 bring comfort to the family. Knowing that we can see our loved ones again gives us hope for the future. I wish you my sincerest condolences.

She was a bubbly happy little girl when she was in
