Doris Elaine Waldrop, 89, of Sandwich, IL, passed away at Valley West Hospital on August 29, 2018. She was born in DeKalb, IL on January 18, 1929 to Rufus and Helen (Maitland) Haefner.

She married Francis Waldrop on October 18, 1949 in DeKalb, IL and was happily married until his passing. She was a member of the Federated Church in Sandwich for 45 years. She loved reading, entertaining, socializing, playing Canasta with her Fox Valley Older Adult friends. She worked at West Aurora High School District, and McKee Door, then was a Secretary of the Superintendent of Sandwich School District #430 for 21 years. She received the Volunteer Service award at Valley West Hospital. She volunteered for 15 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.

She leaves behind her children, Tim (Jennifer) Waldrop of Plano, IL, Jane Mall of Littleton Colorado; her grandchildren, McKenzie Waldrop of Plano, Erica (Tim) Fuller of Phoenix, Arizona, Samantha (Colton) Carlson of Plano, Amanda (Ryan) Wehrle of Big Rock, IL and Megan Mall of Denver Colorado; and her great grandchildren, Addison, Henty, and Gracelyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Donald.

Visitation was on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Beverage Family Funeral Home from 12:00 to 1:30, with the Funeral service followed at 1:30 with Pastor Dan Dewitt officiating. Burial followed at Oak Mound Cemetery, Somonauk, IL.
