Douglas Scott Pierce

Died: August 27, 2021
Douglas Scott Pierce of Yorkville passed away August 27 at home surrounded by his loving family. Doug was born November 18, 1943 to Gordon and Barbara (Enger) Pierce. He graduated from Yorkville High School and served in the U.S. Navy. Jo Ann (Marshall) Pierce and Doug were married June 7, 1975 and spent the next 46 years together.
Doug is survived by his wife Jo, daughters Tess (Mike) Tsusaki and Hannah Pierce, grandsons Greyson and Brecken Tsusaki, brother Dennis (Naydene) Pierce, and sister Ann McNelis.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents.
Doug worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, grilling and his beloved canine companions. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandsons.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 4, from 10:00 to 12:00, with services to follow at noon at the Yorkville Congregational Church-409 Center Parkway in Yorkville. Rev. Timothy Rhodes will officiate. Because of Covid, the visitation and service will be held outdoors. Interment will be private
