John E. Walsh

Born: September 27, 1925

Died: April 16, 2017

John E. Walsh, age 91, of Yorkville, IL, passed away at his home on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017.

He was born on September 27, 1925 in Chicago, IL, the son of Frank and Della (Quinn) Walsh.

John served for 20 years on the South Side of Chicago as a Priest of the Roman Catholic Church. He was later employed for many years as a hospital psychologist. John was united in marriage on September 26, 1970 to the former Marian Conley and was a devoted husband and loving father to her children, Mary, Catherine, Sally, and Joseph. John and Marian spent 43 happy years together until her passing on August 30, 2014. While living in Yorkville he developed many close friendships at Club 47, the Yorkville Public Library and at the Kendall County Community Food Pantry. John loved the outdoors and until very recently could be seen hiking the trails at Silver Springs State Park. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Mary Kinney and her husband, Ken Skord of Lake Zurich, IL, Catherine Kinney and her husband, Dr. Richard Spatafora of Hinsdale, IL, Sally Kinney of Chicago, IL, and Joseph Kinney and his wife, Carolyn DeNapoli of Yorkville, IL; his grandchildren, Megan Skord Ransom, Justin Skord, Benjamin, Andrew, and Abigail Spatafora, and Taylor Kinney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Della Walsh; his wife, Marian Walsh; and his brother, Frank Walsh Jr.
