Kenneth Mikyska, 86, of Plano, IL passed Tues., Sept. 9, 2025. He was born Sept. 1, 1939, in Berwyn, IL, the son of Joseph and Zdenka (Jean) Mikyska.
Ken was united in marriage on Aug. 25, 1962 to Gloria Benson, and they spent the next 53 years together. Mr. Mikyska was employed for many years at Reavis High School Burbank IL teaching government, US history, and geography. He was an active member in the Kiwanis Club for 25 years. Ken was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Ken is survived by his sons, Mark (Linda) Mikyska of Somonauk, IL and Eric Mikyska of Westmont, IL; his grandchildren, Robyn (Steve) Ticknor of Plano, IL and Matthew (Christina) Mikyska of LaSalle, IL; his great-grandchildren, Jackson and Abigail Ticknor; his sister-in-law, Claudia Mikyska of Peru, IL; also nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gloria Mikyska; and 2 brothers, Glenn and Joseph Mikyska Jr.
Funeral services will be private.
