Patricia Ann Wallis, born on November 27, 1935, in Sandwich, Illinois, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, at Prairie Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care in Sugar Grove, Illinois. She was the beloved daughter of Franklin and Margaret (Klotz) Mall and the cherished wife of the late Ronald Wallis, she married on December 12, 1953, in Sandwich. Patricia's life was marked by her dedication to both her career and her family. She was a committed reporter for many years, sharing local news through various newspapers and broadcasting on local radio stations, including WSPY. Her reporting covered significant topics, including city council and school board matters in the Sandwich area, as well as the broader community news that connected and informed local residents. In addition to her journalism career, Patricia worked as a travel agent for many years, and her diverse professional experiences reflected her vibrant personality and strong work ethic. A proud graduate of Sandwich High School, Patricia enjoyed a rich tapestry of hobbies and interests throughout her life. She found joy in reading, crocheting, traveling, sewing, gardening, and cooking. Above all, she treasured the moments spent with her family. In her later years, she looked forward to enjoying coffee with friends, gathering for laughter and companionship. Patricia's family includes her son, Kyle (Sharon) Wallis of Sandwich, IL, and her beloved grandchildren: Ashley (Mitch) Johnson of Earlville, IL, Ryan (Rachel) Wallis of Sandwich, IL, Jeremiah Wallis of Highland Park, IL, Jason (Amanda) Wallis of Rocklin, CA, and Chris (Sylvia) Rhea of Somonauk, IL. Her legacy also continues through her adored great-grandchildren: Sophia, Sadie, Abigail, Jeremiah, Christopher, Jude, Julian, Anabella, Adrian, Davian, Gian, and Jacian. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Margaret Mall; her brother, Gerald Mall; her husband, Ronald Wallis; three sons, Kevin, Karl, and Kendyl Wallis; and one daughter-in-law, Bonnie Wallis. A visitation and memorial service will be held in her honor on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the United Church of Sandwich, located at 512 Lions Road, Sandwich, IL 60548. The visitation will take place from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 6:00 PM with Pastor Tom Bourke officiating. Memorials maybe directed to Open Door, Fox Valley Community Services or United Church of Sandwich. Patricia Ann Wallis leaves behind a legacy of love, nurturing friendships, and a commitment to her community that will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
